About the Job
Position:
Veterinary technician for a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital.
Location:
Parkland, Florida
Job description:
Full-time positions for full-days Monday through Friday and half-day on
Saturdays. The selected candidate will support and assist our veterinarian(s)
with all services provided by the hospital including surgery, medicine, and
dentistry. Applicants should be experienced in phlebotomy, catheter
placement, obtaining radiographs, using in house laboratory equipment, monitoring
and inducing anesthesia, assisting surgery, holding and securing animals, and
in all aspects of nursing care.
The
candidate will also support non-technical tasks including interacting with
clients and patients, facilitating boarding and grooming services, and clinic cleanliness.
He or she will have the flexibility to handle multiple roles including
receptionist when needed. S/He will be required to handle phone calls, scheduling,
product sale, and attend outside clinic event/ appearances. Ideal qualities
include friendly and sympathetic manner and the ability to accurately gather
data from clients and communicate recommendations and other information.

who has experience, but is also willing to learn, grow, and take on new
responsibilities as we grow as a company.
Experience required:
A minimum of 2 years as a veterinary technician working for a reputable and
established Animal Hospital. Certification is preferred but not
required.
Education
required:
Completion of a high school degree or further education. Certificate of
completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program, or the
equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An Associate’s degree/diploma or 4-year
university bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
Personality Traits:
Well developed communication skills, positive outlook, and ability to work
easily with others, interested in learning new skills, able to handle emergency
situations, hard working, dedication to the profession, and a genuine love and
care for animals and their wellbeing.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry an object weighing up to
50 pounds. Able to work energetically for the entire assigned shift, sometimes
exceeding 9 – 10 hours per day.
